Exporting non-verbal performances such as dance has long had it easier in terms of translations to a local audience, but how does text-based performances translate internationally?
In this talk we want to explore how funny text-based performances are exported. Are there cultural differences that makes the sense of humor different from place to place? Are there things you are not allowed to joke about in certain regions? How can performing artists overcome these hurdles and what should they consider when translating their performances to fit for an international audience?
In this workshop the participants will look at these questions together with interpreters and translators and look at what would be beneficial to consider in future systems for exporting text-based and humor performances.
More information about who will participate in the panel will be updated in due time. Please be mindful that times and location may be subject to change.
