The critically acclaimed company DON GNU brings their masterpiece M.I.S. - All Night Long to Norway once again!
“M.I.S. – natten lang” / Men in Sandals - All Night Long
This performance takes the pulse of the confused modern man - a grown-up boy with a big ego, raised on the soft values of the 70s, with role models like Dirty Harry and Albert Åberg's father.
But how is he really doing under those woolly socks and comfortable sandals? In a hard-hitting cocktail of quirky stunts, raw physics, jackass-like challenges and embarrassing moments, three men throw themselves out of their comfort zones to deal with everything from their inner pig-dog and Latino lover, to their "slipper hero" and mother-in-law's dream. This is a silent fight for a man's right to be himself. The scene is taken in true slapstick style against a backdrop of crazy film projections and atmospheric live music - all night long!

DON GNU creates action theater and dance combined in a playful and poetic universe.
The company was established in 2010 by choreographers Jannik Elkær and Kristoffer Louis Andrup, who jointly serve as the artistic directors. Today, DON GNU is one of the country's most touring companies, which, in addition to extensive touring activity at home, has also toured with performances in large parts of the world, including all the Nordic countries, South Korea, Canada, much of Europe, and Cuba.
The name DON GNU is built around the paradox of being one and many at the same time. "Don" as an individual and "Gnu" as a herd animal describe the relationship and dynamic in the collaboration between the individual and the group. That we are responsible as individuals, but only understand and live in relation to others.

The performance is part of the International Norwegian ASSITEJ Festival titled "Are You Kidding Me?" exploring humor in performing arts for young audiences. The festival is arranged by ASSITEJ Norway in collaboration with Riksteatret between 6-10th of May 2025.
DON GNU will also host a 3-day masterclass for professional performing artists to explore their techniques and exchange best practices. They will also show their brand new performance K.I.S.S. (Kvinner i Sokker og Sandaler / Women in Socks and Sandals).
