As we gear up for the 2025 edition of the International Norwegian ASSITEJ Festival, we are thrilled to announce our theme: "Are You Kidding Me?" This year we are shining a spotlight on humor in performing arts for young audiences, learn more about why here.
INAF25: Learning by Doing
Humor is a universal language that transcends age, culture, and background. It has the unique power to connect us, break down barriers, and foster a sense of community. For young audiences, laughter is not only a source of joy but also a crucial tool for learning and development. It encourages creativity, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
By focusing on humor, we aim to explore how performing arts can make children and teenagers laugh, think, and grow. We want to discover the techniques that work for different age groups, from the tiniest tots to the trickiest teens. This exploration will help us create a festival that is not only entertaining but also enriching and impactful.
This year's festival will be more masterclass-based, with a special focus on the performer rather than just the target audience.Comedy is perhaps one of the hardest forms to perform, and we hope to provide the best masterclasses, the most inspiring workshops and talks, and, of course, the most hilarious shows at INAF25 - Are You Kidding Me? Our open call is now out, so make sure to send us your suggestions!
INAF25 will be a "learning by doing" kind of festival, where artists can immerse themselves in hands-on experiences, learning from the very best in the field. We believe that by focusing on the performers' growth and skills, we can create more impactful and memorable experiences for young audiences.
We invite you to join us in Oslo in May 2025look forward to seeing how humor in performing arts can light up the lives of young audiences everywhere. Let’s make this edition the funniest and most memorable yet!
